Caring for Children is Our Passion
After
School Program, LLC offers the children of South Riding safe and
enriching programs in its A-Z Preschool, Kindergarten Enrichment, After School Care program, and
Summer Camp. Children from preschool age through 5th grade
enjoy our fun, creative, and supportive environment. We are dedicated to
nurturing each child’s special gifts and encouraging them along the
path of emotional, social, and academic development.
We
believe that caring for your children is a sacred trust. We give
individual attention to each child and offer them a home away from home.
Our programs foster self-respect, consideration for others, good
manners, kindness, and creativity. We offer a special half-day preschool (morning 4hr program with extended day option) and a half-day kindergarten enrichment program (2 options) and after school child care with academic support for
children who attend South Riding elementary schools.

Top-Notch Staff From Your Neighborhood!
We maintain a low teacher to child ratio to ensure that each child
receives the best possible care. Many of our staff members are parents
themselves and understand a child’s emotional needs. All members of our
staff have a college education, background in child care and
education. Several of our staff members are certified in CPR and First
Aid, so you can feel confident that your child is safe at all times. We
welcome diabetic children and understand their specific needs.
Activities and Facilities
We like to wear the kids out before they go home!
We
have excellent facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. Our
kid-friendly, fully fenced backyard has a playground and picnic-tables
where your children can play safely and enjoy the fresh air. Our indoor facility includes a computer lab, Wii and movie room,
an extensive library with books for all ages, and tons of games, arts
and crafts materials, puzzles, and toys.
We provide structured activities and games but also give the children
plenty of free playtime to encourage their creativity and social
development. We frequently take the children on field trips to the pool,
park, and other kid-centric locations. We've thought of everything to
keep your child entertained and happy, including face painting, scooter
rides, nature hikes, and so much more!
We focus on preparing the younger children for school. For the older
children, we offer an after school academic enrichment program that
includes one-on-one assistance/tutoring at no additional charge. We want parents to be
able to spend quality time with their child, so we do everything
possible to ensure that your child completes their homework and is
prepared for any tests before you pick them up. We also offer additional
academic activities that encourage intellectual development and get
your child excited about learning.
Our comprehensive and engaging program is unlike any other preschool,
kindergarten, or after school program. We care for the whole child and
encourage their cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Special Events
We celebrate each child's birthday and throw fun holiday parties
throughout the year. Our goal is to make your child feel special!
Transportation
We
provide transportation free of charge for children attending South
Riding elementary schools. In the event of school delays or early
dismissals due to inclement weather, we provide transportation to and
from local South Riding elementary schools.
Rates & Fees
Unlike other child care facilities, there are absolutely NO fees for materials or activities. We offer the BEST rates and services in South Riding!
- Kindergarten and After School Care rates are calculated on a weekly basis.
- Preschool rates are calculated on a monthly basis.
- Snacks and drinks are provided at no additional charge.
About Our Founder
A
mother of 4 children and resident of South Riding area for almost four decades, Dena Sommers has over
20 years experience in child care. Dena is passionate about the welfare
of children and has dedicated her life to ensuring that children
receive the emotional and educational support that they need to succeed. A private pilot and college graduate, she is currently pursuing a second degree in Early
Childhood Education. Dena has a nursing background with experience in
Pediatric Emergency and Urgent Care. She is also certified in CPR, First
Aid, EpiPen, and permitted to administer medications through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
After School Program, LLC adheres to ALL county and state licensing regulations.
